Glyn Thomas House Joins the NEL HCP People and Skills Pledge and Commits to Continue to ‘Grow Their Own’

Glyn Thomas House Care Home, based in Immingham, North East Lincolnshire has become the latest organisation to sign up for the North East Lincolnshire
Health and Care Partnership (NEL HCP) People and Skills Pledge.

Today we had the pleasure of meeting with Tracy Briggs, the manager of Glyn Thomas House. Tracy expressed her enthusiasm for becoming a Pledge partner, highlighting her commitment to “growing her own” staff. She is a strong advocate for offering work placements to college students and the unemployed, believing in the importance of nurturing local talent.

Pictured here is Sandie Turner, Employability Support Officer, presenting Tracy with the People and Skills Pledge certificate. Also pictured is Brandon Grinnell who is due to commence his voluntary work placement as a kitchen assistant, along with Daryl Benson, the chef who will be providing valuable guidance and mentorship, enabling Brandon to gain the necessary experience to transition into paid employment.

Amanda Thomas, Operational Lead for the People and Skills Pledge says,

One of the key aspects of Glyn Thomas House’s involvement in the pledge is their commitment to offering work placements. This hands-on approach ensures that individuals like Brandon receive practical training and support, enhancing their employability

Glyn Thomas House’s participation in the NEL HCP People and Skills Pledge illustrates their dedication to community development and workforce growth. By providing work placements and nurturing local talent, they are making a significant impact on the lives of individuals and the broader community. Tracy’s leadership and commitment to “growing her own” staff serve as an inspiring model for other organisations in the health and social care sector”.
