Rahul approached Employability Services in mid-2024 having relocated to the UK from India. As a qualified dentist who had previously managed his own practice in India, Rahul sought healthcare work to help him return to his professional medical career.
Despite the challenges posed by the General Dentistry Council’s regulations, Rahul was determined to find long-term employment in the healthcare sector.
Emily Bates, Rahul’s Employability Support Officer met with him to discuss his career aspirations. She updated his CV to make it more modern and prepared him to attend a Health & Social Care Event hosted by Care Plus Group in June. At the event, Rahul made valuable connections with health and social care providers, demonstrating his proactive approach to his job search. He seized every opportunity to advance his career and handled the frustrations of being an overqualified professional applying for less highly qualified positions with grace. Rahul consistently sought feedback from both mock and real interviews, using it to improve his performance.
In December 2024, Rahul received the fantastic news that he had been offered a role as a Dental Nurse at a local dentist’s surgery
